How to calculate CTR
CTR = clicks ÷ impressions × 100
Example: a page with 240 clicks and12,000 impressions has a CTR of 240 ÷ 12,000 × 100 =2%. You find both numbers for every page and query in Google Search Console under Performance.
What is a good CTR on Google?
It depends mostly on your position. The first organic result gets roughly a quarter of all clicks; at position 10 it is about 2%. The table shows average click-through rates by position from public studies, rounded.
Your real CTR can differ a lot: brand searches get far more clicks, and ads, maps, videos or AI answers above the results take clicks away. Use the benchmark to find outliers, not as a promise.
CTR far below the average? Rewrite the title and meta description so they match what people search for, and check that Google shows the snippet you want.
